Status:
Open Until Filled The employee is responsible for general upkeep of the House and Gardens. Pruning, weeding and watering gardens as needed. Cleaning of garden facilities and light maintenance of the home. Seasonal deep cleaning of garden facilities. Assists with annual and other special events and assists with facility rentals and set up. Take admission in gift shop if needed. Knowledge of Gone With the Wind (book and film) would be preferred or willingness to learn. Prunes, water and weed gardens, no installation Installs and maintains flowers in pots seasonally Cleans and maintains bathroom cottage, carriage house, fountain, windows, floors as needed Painting and pressure washing as needed Light house maintenance (change lightbulbs, etc.) Event attendance, event set up and cleanup Walks the grounds and picks up litter Position will include climbing stairs, lifting, moving items from storage, climbing ladders Assists in gift shop as needed Maintains the museum, restrooms and exhibit area by performing light cleaning and dusting as needed Performs other related duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and a year of related work experience. Must have good business math skills and ability to give and receive change. Ability to operate a cash register and calculator, as well as PC Computer. Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends as required. Must have good verbal communication skills to include ability to interact with the public and present a positive image of the city and the museum.
