Job Description

The Silliman Group is seeking to hire a Landscaper for the Hyde Park/Bronzeville area! The Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the exterior physical condition of residential buildings and commons areas, according to company operating and safety standards. He or she also ensures that ground service work orders are completed timely and thoroughly. The pay range for this role is $18-$20/hour, based on experience with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 6a-2:30p.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain all grounds, including garden area, sidewalks, public walkways, and stairways, building exteriors in a neat, clean and attractive condition. Mow and edge lawns and spread fertilizers. Prune and trim trees, shrubs and hedges. Water lawns, trees and plants. Remove snow from all sidewalks, public walkways and stair ways. Compact and remove trash and debris from the grounds. Complete assigned service requests and minor repairs consistent with company operating standards and in a timely manner. Comply with all applicable MAC policies and procedures including, but not limited to, company operating and safety standards. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, specifically Fair Housing regulations. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including on-call availability during winter months for snow removal. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Valid Driver's License and Vehicle Ability to occasionally operate general office equipment and smartphones. Ability to frequently transport up to 60 pounds variable distances, the mobility & flexibility to use required equipment and to access & work in restricted spaces or at heights in excess of 8-9 feet. Ability to frequently operate various power tools and equipment such as mowers, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clipper, sod cutters and pruning saws. Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers and axes. Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and climb (stairs, ladders, etc.) Please be advised that ALL new hires will be required to successfully complete a criminal background investigation and a medical examination, which includes a drug screening, prior to employment . The receipt of satisfactory responses to reference requests, and the provision of satisfactory proof of an applicant's identity and legal authority to work in the United States are also required .
