About the
Role:
The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of outdoor spaces across various properties. This position involves the upkeep of lawns, gardens, walkways, and other landscaped areas to ensure they are clean, attractive, and well-maintained. The Groundskeeper will work closely with property managers and landscaping teams to implement seasonal planting, pruning, and general maintenance tasks. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential to identify and address potential issues such as pest control, irrigation problems, or safety hazards. Ultimately, the Groundskeeper contributes to creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and employees by preserving the natural beauty and functionality of the grounds.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance. Ability to climb ladders safely and perform frequent bending and physical labor. Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers. Capability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in landscaping or horticulture. Experience with irrigation systems and pest control. Familiarity with safety protocols related to groundskeeping equipment. Strong depth perception and manual dexterity for precise work. Demonstrated professionalism and a positive attitude in previous roles.Responsibilities:
Perform routine landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, and watering to maintain healthy and visually appealing grounds. Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and hand tools. Follow detailed oral and written instructions to complete daily work orders and special projects efficiently. Climb ladders and perform tasks at various heights to prune trees, clean gutters, or install decorations as needed. Monitor grounds for hazards or maintenance needs, reporting issues promptly to supervisors to ensure safety and compliance. Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts to keep the property clean and environmentally responsible. Use basic math skills to measure areas, calculate materials needed, and maintain accurate records of work performed.Skills:
