Job Description

Groundskeeper / Landscaping Team Member Position Summary Join our team in maintaining a clean, safe, and beautiful outdoor environment across a large campus. As a Groundskeeper, you will perform a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks to ensure all outdoor areas remain well-kept year-round. This is a hands-on, outdoor role that involves working in all weather conditions, including winter snow and ice removal. Key Responsibilities Inspect assigned areas regularly to identify maintenance needs and uphold safety and appearance standards Maintain cleanliness of grounds by removing litter and debris from lawns, walkways, and common areas Perform routine landscaping duties, including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and weeding Execute seasonal tasks such as leaf removal and general landscape upkeep Provide lawn care services such as fertilizing, watering, and turf maintenance Plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape elements Ensure flowerbeds and garden areas remain neat and free of weeds Safely operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers Assist with campus-wide landscaping projects in coordination with team members Support winter operations by removing snow and ice from walkways and parking areas Remain available for on-call snow removal during winter weather events Apply fertilizers and pre-emergent treatments under supervision of a licensed applicator Follow all safety procedures and maintain equipment properly Complete work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards Required Qualifications Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn care, or general outdoor labor Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) Proficiency in operating landscaping equipment safely and effectively Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, attractive spaces Reliable and punctual with the ability to follow a consistent schedule Willingness to assist with winter snow and ice removal, including on-call availability Preferred Qualifications Proven experience in landscaping, gardening, or turf management Experience working on team-based landscaping or large-site maintenance projects Basic knowledge of fertilization and weed control practices Strong work ethic and willingness to perform hands-on, physical tasks Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines Schedule Monday -
Friday:
6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. On-call availability required during winter months for snow and ice events Why Join Us? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
