Full Time Gardener Position at Meyers Castle

Job Overview Meyer's Castle is currently seeking a dependable, motivated, and dedicated full time Gardener to join our estate team. This position plays an important role in maintaining the beauty and presentation of our historic wedding and event venue grounds. Responsibilities Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and other landscape features through mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting. Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and spades to perform detailed gardening tasks. Utilize power tools including hedge trimmers, blowers, and lawn mowers to efficiently manage large-scale landscape maintenance. Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules for all garden areas. Assist with greenhouse activities by planting seedlings, transplanting plants, and managing plant health. Support farming or agricultural activities related to garden production or landscape sustainability initiatives. Conduct regular inspections of the grounds for pests, diseases, or other issues requiring attention and take appropriate action. Assisting with outdoor event preparation as needed

Requirements:

Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping or related fields such as farming or agriculture. Familiarity with lawn care techniques and landscape maintenance practices. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Strong understanding of plant growth cycles, soil health, and sustainable gardening practices. Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry equipment or materials as needed.
