This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your horticultural knowledge and technical skills to support landscape maintenance, tree care, and groundskeeping operations. As a Groundsman, you will assist with Operating and maintaining ground-level tools like wood chippers, chainsaws, and stump grinders. Load and unload heavy gear, tools, and debris onto trucks and trailers. Driver's license required. Responsibilities Assist with tree removal, pruning, trimming, and arborist rigging techniques to promote healthy growth and safety. Operate bucket trucks and other landscaping equipment safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, edging, and plant pruning care to enhance visual appeal. Support land clearing activities using chainsaws and rigging tools while adhering strictly to safety protocols. Conduct routine inspections of trees and plants, applying horticultural best practices based on dendrology (the study of trees) and growing experience. Maintain equipment including chainsaws, bucket trucks, and rigging gear through proper use and regular upkeep. Follow all safety procedures diligently during outdoor work activities to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and team members. Qualifications Prior outdoor work experience with a focus on landscaping, tree care, or groundskeeping is highly preferred. Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal processes, and landscape maintenance practices. Ability to operate bucket trucks safely and efficiently for elevated tasks. Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology is a plus for site mapping and planning. Skilled in the use of chainsaws, horticultural tools, and lawn equipment with a strong commitment to safety protocol adherence. Experience in plant pruning care, tree trimming, and general landscape maintenance is desirable.
