(PGS) is a growing, established fine-gardening company serving Cambridge, Somerville, Belmont, Arlington, Newton, Boston, and surrounding communities. We specialize in fine gardening, horticultural maintenance, garden design, planting, pruning, seasonal cleanups, and garden care for residential properties. The Position This is a hands-on gardening position working primarily as part of a two-person gardening team at residential properties. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and has a genuine interest in plants and horticulture. Our approach to gardening is detail-oriented and professional. We primarily use hand tools and horticultural techniques rather than heavy machinery , allowing us to focus on the quality and care of each garden. Responsibilities Perform fine-gardening and horticultural maintenance Weeding, edging, cultivating, and garden bed maintenance Pruning shrubs, perennials, and small ornamental trees Plant annuals, perennials, shrubs, and other landscape plants Spring and fall garden cleanups Mulching and garden preparation Identify and report plant health issues, pests, and diseases Assist with garden installations and renovations Maintain clean, organized, and attractive garden beds Work professionally and respectfully at clients' homes Safely use and maintain gardening tools and equipment Communicate effectively with teammates, supervisors, and clients What We're Looking For Ideal candidates will have: Previous gardening, landscaping, horticulture, or related experience preferred A strong interest in plants and gardening A strong work ethic and willingness to learn Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to perform physical work, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying Reliable transportation to and from work A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team We are also willing to train the right person.
