Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Landscape and Snow Plow Operator is responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces year-round at our properties, focusing on landscaping tasks during warmer months and snow removal activities during the winter season. This role involves operating a variety of equipment, including landscaping tools, snow plows, and salt spreaders, to ensure safe and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments at a number of apartment complexes.
Key Responsibilities:

Landscaping:
Perform various landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, planting, and mulching. Maintain and care for plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees to ensure their health and appearance. Perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and tools. 2.
Snow Removal:
Monitor weather forecasts to anticipate snowfall and plan for timely snow removal operations. Operate snow plows, snow blowers, and salt spreaders to clear snow and ice from roads, walkways, parking lots, and other designated areas. Shovel and clear snow from tight or sensitive areas where equipment cannot be used. Apply salt or de-icing agents to prevent ice accumulation and ensure safe walking and driving conditions. 3.
Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain a range of equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, plows, and spreaders. Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure proper functioning and perform minor repairs as needed. Safely transport equipment to various job sites and ensure it is securely stored when not in use. 4.
Safety and Communication:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when operating equipment, handling chemicals, and performing tasks in various weather conditions. Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients to provide updates on progress and address any concerns. Identify potential hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks during both landscaping and snow removal activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in landscaping, snow removal, or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and snow removal procedures. Ability to operate and maintain landscaping and snow removal equipment safely and effectively. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients. Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Working Conditions:
This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat. The operator may be required to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during snowfall events. The job requires physical stamina, including lifting, bending, and operating heavy equipment. Proper safety gear and precautions are essential to ensure the operator's well-being.
