Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Tree Trimmer/Groundsperson and play a vital role in maintaining healthy, safe, and beautiful urban and suburban landscapes. In this energetic position, you will assist with tree care operations, including trimming, pruning, and removal, while supporting arborists and tree care specialists. Your work will ensure trees are properly cared for, hazards are mitigated, and the environment remains vibrant and safe for communities. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in outdoor work, horticulture, and arborist rigging techniques while contributing to sustainable landscape management. Responsibilities Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and removal using hand tools and power equipment such as chainsaws and pole saws Support arborists with rigging techniques for safe tree dismantling and limb removal Operate bucket trucks safely to access elevated branches and perform aerial work Conduct ground-based tasks including planting, lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general site cleanup Follow strict safety protocols during all tree care activities to prevent accidents and injuries Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping and site planning when required Support tree care projects by preparing sites, handling plant pruning care, and assisting with plant health assessments Requirements Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping, horticulture, or related fields is preferred Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, and basic tree removal techniques Ability to operate bucket trucks safely and perform arborist rigging techniques effectively Familiarity with chainsaws, plant pruning tools, and safety equipment is essential Understanding of safety protocols related to climbing or working at heights in trees or elevated platforms Growing experience or interest in dendrology (the study of trees), landscape maintenance, or horticulture is a plus Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully while working independently or as part of a team Join us in shaping vibrant landscapes while advancing your skills in a supportive environment that values safety, growth, and environmental stewardship!
