Job Description

POSITION
General Utility
BASIC FUNCTION
To perform all cemetery field operations assigned by the foreman at a given cemetery.
SCOPE:
The duties and responsibilities of the position extend to the cemetery assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interments:
Operate backhoe, loader, truck, etc. Backfill and tamp graves Assemble and knockdown graveside set-ups Install concrete liners
Ground Maintenance:
Lawn & shrub maintenance Monument/marker installations Work order requests General Repair and Maintenance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee must be able to: Lift and carry 80 pounds Work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. extreme summer heat, extreme winter cold, and other extremes of weather related to outdoor elements). Perform repeated tasks of bending, kneeling, stooping, pulling hand-over-hand, digging, and extensive walking. Operate hand tools, small machines and equipment. Operate heavy equipment (trucks, tractors, backhoe, etc.) Hear conversational voices with or without hearing aid assistance.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School or G.E.D. diploma.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours Monday through Saturday. Must have a valid driver's license.
EXPERIENCE
No experience necessary, but mechanical aptitude with knowledge of equipment highly desirable.
