Job Description

Goodrich Area Schools Summer Grounds Keeper Job Summary The grounds keeper is responsible for maintaining assigned exterior areas. Employees will work closely with their immediate supervisor to provide a safe and clean environment for students, teachers and other staff. The grounds keeper may be assigned to special projects related to the needs of the district. Qualifications and Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Demonstrate use of grounds keeping equipment Valid Michigan driver's license Essential Functions and Representative Duties Keeps assigned exterior areas and premises including sidewalks safe, neat and clean at all time, in attractive condition according to district standards as appropriate to the assignment Mowing, weeding, mulching, some trimming, and occasional light hauling are expected Operates equipment, i.e. lawn mowers, tractor, trimmers, etc. Documents daily work activities on forms as established for the program/assignment. Reports supply and repair needs to immediate supervisor Performs minor repairs, preventive maintenance and maintains equipment/ grounds. Must be physically able to bend, stoop, lift, squat, carry, stand, climb, push/pull and use other motor skills necessary to perform the essential duties as needed Follows daily work schedules and communicates work that was not completed to supervisor
