General Landscape Crew Member

Position Summary Great Lakes Landscape Design is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Crew Member to support both landscape construction and maintenance operations. This position is responsible for assisting with a variety of tasks including hardscape installation, landscape maintenance, planting, site cleanup, loading and unloading materials, and supporting crews as needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, team-oriented, enjoys working outdoors, and is willing to learn different aspects of the landscape industry. Safety Innovation Responsibilities Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, mulching, pruning, and seasonal cleanups. Assist with landscape construction and hardscape projects including patios, retaining walls, planting, grading, drainage, and material installation. Load and unload trucks, trailers, materials, and equipment. Move materials such as mulch, stone, gravel, pavers, soil, plants, and tools. Operate hand tools, power tools, and landscape equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites. Follow instructions from Crew Leaders and Production Managers. Support snow operations during winter months when needed. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or material needs. Follow company quality standards and complete work efficiently. Assist with daily jobsite cleanup and truck organization. Support team members and contribute to a positive work environment. Expectations Arrive on time and ready to work each day. Maintain regular attendance and reliability. Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Be flexible and willing to support different crews and departments as needed. Follow directions from Crew Leaders and Production Managers. Always represent the company professionally. Be willing to work overtime and Saturdays during peak season. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Be respectful to coworkers, clients, and vendors. Be willing to learn new skills, equipment, and responsibilities.

Requirements:

Qualifications Previous landscape, construction, maintenance, or labor experience preferred, but not required. Chauffeur driver's license preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card. Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift, and perform physical labor for extended periods. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Basic English communication skills preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
