Job Description

Overview As a Laborer/Groundman , you will support aerial and underground outside plant (OSP) telecommunications construction projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Work may include fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installations, conduit and manhole construction, trenching, plowing, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), micro-trenching, vacuum excavation, cable pulling and blowing, aerial construction, pole work, and drop installation, depending on project requirements and terrain. Responsibilities What you'll do: Follow direction from the Foreman or Supervisor to complete field labor tasks safely and efficiently Assist with shoveling, brush clearing, site cleanup, landscaping, vehicle washing, loading/unloading, and material handling Monitor excavation work to prevent utility strikes Follow safety procedures and use required protective equipment Operate or assist with trucks, trailers, and equipment, as trained Learn required inventory, tools, equipment, and jobsite procedures Climb poles safely when trained and certified About you: You are safety-minded, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in challenging conditions. You take pride in quality work, enjoy solving problems, and are willing to learn new skills as part of a hands-on team. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card (Applicants are subject to an MVR review and must meet company safe-driving standards) Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs Ability to read maps, drawings, diagrams, and schematics Climbing certification or related experience preferred (required for pole work assignments) Overhead or underground outside plant fiber construction experience, is preferred Knowledge of overhead materials, clearance codes, and network design, is preferred Flagger certification preferred or ability to obtain it, as needed We are a proud partner of the DoW SkillBridge program for transitioning service members. MOS Codes 25L, 12N, 3E2X1, and BU, align well with this role. Compensation of $23-$25 per hour.
