Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Urban Gardener at Growing Green Inc will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining sustainable and aesthetically pleasing urban landscapes. This role aims to enhance the green spaces within urban environments, contributing to environmental sustainability and community well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and plan urban gardens and landscapes, considering environmental impact, sustainability, and client preferences. Implement gardening projects by selecting appropriate plants, materials, and techniques suitable for urban environments. Maintain urban gardens, ensuring plants are healthy and thriving through regular watering, pruning, and pest management. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on garden design and maintenance. Educate community members on sustainable gardening practices and the benefits of urban green spaces. Stay updated on industry trends, new gardening techniques, and sustainable practices to continually improve service offerings. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and plants. Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards in all gardening projects.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in horticulture, landscape design, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, or a related field. Proven track record of successful plant care and maintenance in urban environments. Experience with sustainable gardening practices and knowledge of native plant species.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of plant species, soil conditions, and pest management. Ability to design and implement landscape plans that enhance urban spaces. Proficiency in using gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
