Public Grounds is responsible for the design, planning, planting, and management of vegetation along city right-of-ways, facility grounds and beautification projects within Springfield. Experience, Education, and Training Three years of work experience in arboriculture, horticulture, forestry, or a related field; Completion of 23 hours of horticulture, forestry or related coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years experience.

Irrigation experience is preferred. Licensing/Certification Must obtain and maintain a valid Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker and air brake endorsements, depending on assignment, within the following guidelines: Pass written portion of exam within 90 days of employment and skills test portion within the probationary period. Must possess or obtain a State of Missouri Certified Public Operator License in Ornamental and Turf category and a valid International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist certificate within the probationary period depending on assignment.
