Job Description

These values guide how we hire team members, serve customers, support coworkers, and contribute to our community. The Garden Coach (GC) is a retail sales and small project management role. The focus of the GC is customer advocacy and company advocacy, ensuring the product and service of B.B. Barns exceed client expectations while establishing a relationship with the customer and B.B.Barns that is loyal and lasting.
Garden Coach Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Create sustainable and beautiful landscape solutions. Determine customer desires and budget, developing an appropriate plan and proposal to meet and exceed these desires. Determine pathological issues in plants and identify plant material quickly. Understand VMX and the pricing system for B.B. Barns services. Communicate effectively through the entire sales/design/install process—keeping clients and crew apprised of all project components. Managing/overseeing the project installation and guiding the Crew Leader to meet all expectations. Effectively communicating and transferring all necessary information for project implementation and completion. Be available to crews during projects —on-site first, by text, or by call secondarily. Ensure a thorough walk-through with the customer at the end of the project, providing them with all relevant information for caring for their new landscape. Be the point of contact for the respective customer after the project is complete, fostering a relationship and potentially driving future sales, installations, and garden services. Required Skills & Knowledge Strong working knowledge of landscape plants, including: Plant identification Mature size and growth habits Cultural requirements Appropriate design applications Practical understanding of common landscape pests, diseases, and treatments Strong verbal and written communication skills Comfort discussing budgets, timelines, and expectations with clients A team player who values the input of co-workers. A work ethic of integrity and honesty. Ability to make informed decisions quickly. Ability to set appropriate boundaries while maintaining good relations with clients and co-workers. Ability to use Google Suite applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-focused environment. Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills, written and oral. Flexibility. Strong project management skills. Understanding of B.B.
