The Country Club of Landfall is a private club located near Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington, NC. The membership invests heavily in their golfing experience and places a high demand on course conditioning whether it be for tournaments or daily play. Of the 45-holes on property, 18 were designed by Pete Dye, and 27 by Jack Nicklaus. 2020 - 2025

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This position reports to the Assistant Superintendents, Course Superintendent, and Director of Golf Courses & Grounds Maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a can-do attitude, be energetic, and unhesitatingly embrace teamwork mentality. He or she will also be highly motivated, detail-oriented, passionate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Turf Care:
mowing (greens, tees, fairways, roughs) , trimming, watering, fertilizing, aerating, drainage, and sodding
Bunker Maintenance:
raking, edging, rototilling, plate tamping, addition of sand, sand depth inspections, sand redistribution
Course Setup:
changing hole locations, setting tee markers, filling ball washers, repairing divots, and cleaning debris
Equipment Operation:
safely operating mowers (riding/walking) , blowers, string trimmers, utility vehicles, and chainsaws
General Maintenance:
trimming trees/bushes, cleaning facilities, collecting litter, and basic irrigation system upkeep
Equipment Care:
fueling, cleaning, performing basic maintenance, and reporting equipment issues
Safety & Compliance:
following safety protocols, applying chemicals (as directed) , and maintaining records
OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES
Due to the nature of this position, it is impossible to list all things you will be exposed to or ultimately have responsibility for. Because of the fluctuating demands of the club's operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. Our goal will always be to do what is right to assist Members, guests and other employees to maximize the success and enjoyment of the Club.
DIMENSIONS WORK EXPERIENCE
Previous work experience in the golf course maintenance industry is preferred but not required
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
Must possess a valid driver's license
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Member/Guest satisfaction oriented with ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
Work tasks are performed predominantly outdoors and involve physical strength, endurance, and manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment Requires walking and standing for long periods of time. The duration of time will vary depending on the specific task being accomplished Must be able to exert and lift more than 50 pounds Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather
