Not benefit-eligible Position Summary Under the supervision of the Maintenance Management Team, the Seasonal Building & Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the grounds and exterior areas of multi-family residential communities owned and managed by the Grand Forks Housing Authority. This position helps ensure properties remain safe, sanitary, and attractive for residents, visitors, and staff throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Maintain grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office areas, and parking lots Perform routine landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, and general lawn care Assist with light seasonal tasks including preparation for and cleanup after changing weather conditions Remove trash and debris from common areas and property perimeters daily Assist in preparing vacant units, including trash removal and reporting maintenance concerns Identify and report unsafe conditions; take corrective action when appropriate Operate equipment and tools safely and effectively Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and equipment Support preventive maintenance and minor repair tasks as needed Move equipment and materials between work sites Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times Work overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong time management and organizational skills Basic problem-solving and decision-making ability Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities Familiarity with basic maintenance tools and equipment Ability to read and understand safety guidelines, including chemical labels and
MSDS Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred Valid driver's license required with an acceptable driving record Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Regular exposure to heat, humidity, dust, and other environmental elements Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying (up to 50 lbs or more) Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and reaching Operation of maintenance equipment and vehicles required (must be able to drive) Additional Requirements Reliable attendance is essential Must comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines Equal Employment Opportunity Statement The Grand Forks Housing Authority is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
