The Gardening Assistant will support the Agriculture Program by assisting with daily garden maintenance, including planting, harvesting, weeding, watering, seed collection, and other seasonal gardening activities. This position will also assist with the feeding and daily care of the program's chickens and help maintain a safe, productive farm environment. The Gardening Assistant will work alongside individuals with developmental disabilities, providing support and instruction during gardening activities and facilitating up to 2-3 life skills groups per day, as needed. Responsibilities include promoting skill development, community participation, horticultural education, and animal care in a supportive and inclusive setting. Candidates should possess practical gardening experience, enjoy working outdoors, and be able to model appropriate work habits and gardening techniques. This is a temporary part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week , ending on September 1, 2026 .
