Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic groundskeeping team as a Golf Course Maintenance Worker and play a vital role in maintaining pristine, playable golf course conditions. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing a variety of landscape maintenance skills to ensure the course remains beautiful, safe, and inviting for players of all skill levels. You will be responsible for supporting the overall health and aesthetics of the course through hands-on maintenance, equipment operation, and environmental stewardship. Duties Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment, including mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Maintain turf health by performing lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding to promote lush, healthy playing surfaces. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules, troubleshoot issues, and perform system adjustments for efficient water use. Conduct athletic field groundskeeping activities to keep fairways, greens, tees, and roughs in excellent condition. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, gardening, and pest management to enhance course aesthetics and environmental sustainability. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting and ground clearing with proper safety procedures using hand tools and power tools. Maintain equipment through routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal operation. Qualifications Prior experience with golf course groundskeeping or athletic field maintenance is highly desirable. Knowledge of irrigation systems, pesticide management, horticulture practices, and landscaping techniques. Proficiency in operating ground maintenance machinery such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and company vehicles. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while adhering to power tool safety standards. Strong understanding of lawn care practices, gardening techniques, and general landscaping principles. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to equipment maintenance and grounds upkeep. Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
