Job Description
Xavier University is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, , working 40 hours a week, for an employment period from April 2026 through October 2026. This posting is intended to identify applicants interested in contributing to Xavier's mission during a defined seasonal period in support of campus needs. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and candidates may be contacted as needs arise for the April-October 2026 season. Seasonal employment is based on project timelines, departmental priorities, and available funding, and is limited to the duration of the 2026 seasonal period. Responsibilities includes but not limited to: With appropriate personal protective equipment, the Temporary Groundskeeper will operate hand and power tools to cut, trim, edge grass, turf, prunes trees and shrubs, trim hedges, mulches, pulls weeds, and applies chemicals. Maintain athletic fields by dragging, laying out, lining and painting. Keep university grounds clean (e.g., pick up papers and other debris; operates a variety of equipment to clean sidewalks, steps, patios, and parking lots when necessary). Follow all established safety procedures. Work outside in all-weather condition; work with potentially dangerous equipment and chemicals; exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, noise, and elements.
