Landscape Crew Member Job Summary Precision Grounds Management is a young, locally owned lawn care and landscaping company based in Elyria, Ohio. The company was started in 2021 by owner Caden Doss while he was still in high school. What began as a small local operation built through hard work, word of mouth, and a commitment to quality has grown into a rapidly expanding lawn care and landscaping company serving customers throughout Lorain County and the surrounding communities. We are looking for dependable, motivated, and hardworking individuals who want to grow with us. We are not a large corporate landscaping company where employees are treated like numbers. We are a homegrown business with a young, energetic team and an owner who remains actively involved in the day-to-day operation. We value employees who show up on time, work hard, take pride in their results, and want to help build something meaningful. As a Landscape Crew Member, you will work with our team completing lawn maintenance, property cleanups, mulch installations, shrub trimming, planting, grading, seeding, lawn renovations, decorative stone installation, and other outdoor property improvement projects. This is a paid, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, likes seeing the results of their work, and wants to develop practical skills while working for a fast-growing local company. Responsibilities Perform lawn and landscape maintenance, including mowing, string trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, and shrub trimming Complete spring and fall cleanups and remove leaves, weeds, brush, debris, and unwanted vegetation Install mulch, topsoil, grass seed, straw, landscape fabric, decorative stone, plants, shrubs, and trees Create, redefine, and maintain clean landscape bed edges Assist with lawn renovations, grading, drainage improvements, and new lawn installations Assist with small retaining walls, walkways, landscape edging, and other hardscape projects Dig planting holes, remove unwanted plants, and prepare soil for new plant material Safely operate commercial lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other landscaping equipment Assist with compact equipment such as mini skid steers, skid steers, stump grinders, Harley rakes, and other machinery when properly trained Load and unload tools, materials, equipment, and jobsite debris Follow crew leader instructions and complete work in an efficient, organized sequence Maintain clean and organized trucks, trailers, equipment, and jobsites Protect customers' homes, lawns, driveways, vehicles, plants, and surrounding property Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers, coworkers, supervisors, and members of the public Follow all company safety procedures and proper equipment operating practices Work efficiently while maintaining strong attention to detail Help ensure every property looks cleaner and better when the crew leaves than when it arrived Qualifications Previous experience in landscaping, lawn care, construction, farming, maintenance, warehouse work, or outdoor labor is preferred but not required A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are more important than knowing everything on the first day Must be dependable, punctual, and ready to work at the scheduled start time Must be able to work well with a younger, fast-moving crew Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, humidity, light rain, and changing weather conditions Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and move approximately 50 to 75 pounds Strong attention to detail and pride in completed work Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Mechanical knowledge and landscaping equipment experience are a plus Valid driver's license and clean driving record are strongly preferred Experience driving a truck and trailer is a major plus Reliable transportation to and from the shop is required Must maintain a professional appearance and respectful attitude while representing the company Must be able to safely perform the essential duties of the position What We Look For We are looking for employees who: Show up consistently and on time Work hard without needing constant supervision Take pride in the appearance and quality of completed work Stay productive throughout the workday Treat customers' properties as if they were their own Communicate well with the rest of the crew Are willing to learn new skills and operate new equipment Take responsibility for mistakes and help solve problems Maintain a positive attitude during physically demanding days Want an opportunity to grow with a developing company Are interested in becoming more valuable and taking on additional responsibility over time What We Offer Paid outdoor work with a growing local company Hands-on training in lawn care, landscaping, equipment operation, and property improvement Opportunities to learn professional landscaping techniques Opportunities for advancement as the company expands A young, team-oriented work environment Variety in daily work and job locations The satisfaction of seeing a completed result at the end of each day Opportunities for additional hours during busy seasons The ability to grow into leadership, driving, or equipment-operation roles About Precision Grounds Management Precision Grounds Management is a locally owned lawn care and landscaping company based in Elyria, Ohio.
