Job Description

Groundskeeper North Lima Community Health Center Full-time position Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Groundskeeper will be responsible for basic maintenance tasks related to the health center grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
High School Degree or GED Required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Successful completion of in-house training.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
: Experience caring for flowers and plants preferred. Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission of Health Partners of Western Ohio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Ensures a safe and pleasant environment for patients, staff, and visitors to the health center. Perform basic ground maintenance such as weed control, litter pick-up, planting plants and flowers. Keeps grounds free from trash, litter, and debris. Work with hand tools (trowels, shovels, brooms, pruners, etc.) and basic light machinery. Ensures flowerpots, shrubs, trees, and plants are watered and dead-headed. Removes light snow by using a shovel or snow blower. Applies salt to walking paths and sidewalks. Submits facilities tickets as needed. Respects and maintains employee and patient confidentiality. Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings. Performs other related duties as they are assigned. Assists with monitoring Ticketing System. Assists Facilities Manager with facility projects including minor repairs, moving equipment and furnishings, and facility checks. Assists Facilities Manager with coordinating independent facility contractors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Walking, lifting, and bending is required. Must be able to use garden tools such as shovel, trowel, hoe, and pruners. Duties require frequent bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, pulling, pushing, and walking. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
