Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, and trimming trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools such as trimmers, blowers, lawn mowers, and hedge cutters efficiently and safely. Use specialized equipment like excavators for larger projects involving hardscape installation or land grading. Maintain lawns and gardens through watering, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control to promote lush growth. Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas. Construct hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and garden beds with precision. Conduct seasonal tasks including snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe. Perform tree care activities including trimming, pruning, planting, and removal to support healthy growth and safety. Assist with landscaping design ideas and execute projects that enhance the visual appeal of outdoor spaces. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various landscaping machinery and tools safely. Extensive experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices. Proficiency with hand tools (shovels, rakes) and power tools (chainsaws, trimmers) essential for daily tasks. Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting for efficient water management. Ability to perform tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, planting, or removal with precision. Familiarity with construction techniques related to hardscape features like patios or retaining walls. Experience in snow plowing operations during winter seasons for safety maintenance. Good understanding of landscaping principles including plant selection, soil preparation, and landscape design concepts. Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
