Under the direction of the Landscape Crew Leader, the Crew Member is responsible for assisting in the implementation of landscape projects and various other related duties.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Loads plants, materials and tools necessary for implementation of each day's work, to prevent unnecessary return trips to the nursery. Installs plants and materials on landscape projects, in a culturally appropriate manner, to ensure serviceability of plant material and a professional appearance of the project. Operates equipment and handles tools necessary for implementation of the landscape project, in a safe and efficient manner, to expedite the completion of the project and to ensure safety. Assists in keeping the project site as clean as possible, and assists in leaving the site clean and free of debris at the end of each day, to avoid unnecessary liability and inconvenience at clients' property. Assists in unloading trucks at the end of each day and in returning plants and materials to their proper places, to prevent the build-up of debris, and to ensure the health of the plant material. Reports to work on a timely and regular basis. Completes special projects and performs other duties as requested.COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATIONS
At least 36 months' experience in landscape construction.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Requires sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, balancing and lifting up to 100 pounds. Repeated hauling of loads up to 150 pounds in a wheelbarrow of distances up to 100 ft., and up a 30% incline onto a truck bed. Repeated use of proper hand tools as necessary to perform the planting of trees, shrubs and other plant materials in the methods approved by Southwood. Exposure to fertilizers and pesticides. Work environment is a combination of indoors in a greenhouse and outdoors in all types of weather including extreme heat, cold, and various types of precipitation.
