Job Description

We are seeking skilled, dependable, and hardworking individuals to join our growing excavation team. This position plays a critical role in excavation, trenching, digging, dirt work, descaling, grading, and site preparation projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working on excavation and underground utility job sites, is comfortable performing physically demanding labor outdoors in all weather conditions, and can safely operate or assist with excavation equipment including mini excavators, trenchers, skid steers, and other dirt-moving machinery. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities Operate and assist with excavation, descaling, and site preparation equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Prepare job sites daily by organizing tools, materials, and machinery to ensure smooth project execution. Follow supervisor instructions and project specifications to complete assigned tasks accurately and on schedule. Perform digging, grading, trenching, soil compaction, and debris removal as required for site development. Support contractors and crew members with construction, repair, and restoration tasks. Maintain strict compliance with all safety policies and OSHA regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Conduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly. Clean and secure tools, materials, and machinery at the end of each shift to maintain organization and job site safety. Work efficiently in outdoor environments, including heat, cold, wind, and rain. Compensation This position offers performance-based commission compensation.
Commission Rate:
16%-20%, based on performance and role.
Typical Earnings:
Approximately $200-$300+ per dig day sold. Higher performance levels qualify for higher commission percentages. Commission earnings are performance-based and not guaranteed. High performers have the opportunity to consistently earn at the top of the commission range. Extensive experience in excavation, trenching, digging, grading, and underground utility work preferred. Skilled in operating excavation equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, trenchers, backhoes, and other dirt-moving machinery, or ability to quickly learn. Strong knowledge of soil removal, site preparation, trench safety, backfilling, and grading procedures. Ability to perform physically demanding excavation and labor-intensive work, including digging, lifting heavy materials, hauling dirt, and working in uneven terrain. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions on active excavation and construction sites. Experience assisting with underground pipe installation, sewer/water line work, drainage systems, or related excavation projects preferred. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work efficiently in fast-paced field environments. Effective communication and teamwork skills while coordinating with operators, laborers, and supervisors on excavation projects. Strong commitment to job site safety, trench safety standards, equipment awareness, and maintaining a safe excavation work environment.
