WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Grounds and Buildings Coordinator will focus on maintaining safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments for all Norh10 Philadelphia owned properties. Outdoor spaces will be maintained through routine lawn care (mowing and weeding), plant care (pruning and planting), and hardscape upkeep (cleaning and repairs). They will operate associated equipment and remove debris as well as performing snow and ice removal to keep areas safe and visually appealing. Additional key duties include landscaping and maintenance of specific lots in and around the Hunting Park and East Tioga sections of North Philadelphia to ensure a clean and safe neighborhood This role will also assist with indoor facilities upkeep such as trash removal, emptying of receptacles and recycling and event preparation, including setting up and breaking down the gym and community rooms with tables and chairs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The key elements and primary responsibilities of this role follow, though are by no means exhaustive, given the physical nature of this position:

Lawn & Garden Care:

Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, watering, and mulching.

Plant Maintenance:

Pruning trees, shrubs, and hedges.

Grounds Upkeep:

Removing litter, clearing debris from parking lots, clearing leaves, and cleaning walkways.

Seasonal Maintenance:

Removing leaves in the fall and snow and ice from walkways and parking lots in the winter.

Safety & Compliance :

Keeping grounds free of hazards, ensuring proper storage of chemicals, and reporting repairs needed on pathways and/or structures.

Hardscape Maintenance :

Maintaining fences, planters, and outdoor furniture

Equipment Operations:

Operates and maintains lawn mowers, blowers, chainsaws, and snowblowers safely

Safety and Compliance :

Inspecting grounds regularly for hazards. May be required to undertake other tasks and initiatives to support team and organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS 1-3

years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or nursery work is required. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy objects (often 50+ lbs.), and perform manual labor Proficiency in using tools such as mowers, loaders, trimmers and chainsaws Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Candidate must be over 18 years of age High School Diploma or Equivalency Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and work as part of a team Ability to communicate in professional manner through verbal and written communication Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be eligible to work in the United States PA Child Abuse Clearance PA Criminal Background Clearance FBI Clearance This position may require driving North10 Philadelphia vehicles on our behalf. The incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check and possess and maintain a current and valid driver's license and clear driving record in their state of residence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily outdoors and requires the ability to stand through lengthy periods of intense physical labor in all weather conditions, including exposure to wind, rain, snow, extreme heat/cold) when performing exterior maintenance or landscaping. Work intensity often shifts with seasons, focusing on lawn care and planting in spring/summer, leaf removal in fall, and snow and ice removal in winter. This role demands a blend of horticultural knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced, tactile environment

$45,000.00 per year
