Job Description

SummaryThe Grounds keeper supports the maintenance team in maintaining the facility, equipment, and grounds in a safe, clean, and functional condition. This position assists with routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of the property.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and common areas to identify maintenance or safety concernsAssist with general building maintenance, including painting, sanding, and minor repairsRemove snow and apply salt to sidewalks and parking areas during inclement weatherPerform landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and plantingAssist with preventative maintenance tasks and basic equipment upkeepMaintain a clean and organized work environmentWork collaboratively with team members and staff in a professional mannerFollow all workplace safety policies and proceduresPerform additional duties as assigned based on operational needsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious maintenance, facilities, or groundskeeping experience preferredBasic knowledge of hand and power tools preferredAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSkills & CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesAttention to detail and time management skillsProfessional communication and teamwork skillsFlexibility and willingness to assist in various maintenance tasksTravel RequirementsOccasional local travel may be requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work outdoors for extended periodsAbility to work in varying weather conditionsWork EnvironmentThis position operates within a professional animal hospital environment. Employees may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, animal odors, noise, animal waste, and potentially injured or ill animals. Appropriate safety equipment and procedures are provided and required.
