Job Description
Position Overview The Edgeworth Club seeks a dedicated, hardworking, and service-oriented Grounds Crew Team Member to help maintain the beauty, safety, and playability of the Club's historic property and recreational facilities. This hands-on position is responsible for the daily care of the Club's grounds, landscaping, outdoor amenities, and tennis facilities while supporting the overall member experience. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining championship-quality grounds and courts that reflect the high standards of The Edgeworth Club. Key Responsibilities Grounds & Landscape Maintenance Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, walkways, parking areas, and outdoor recreational spaces. Perform mowing, trimming, edging, planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and watering activities. Assist with seasonal landscaping projects and beautification initiatives. Remove leaves, debris, branches, and other materials from Club property. Perform snow and ice removal on walkways, entrances, patios, and other member-use areas. Assist with storm preparation and post-weather cleanup activities. Operate and maintain grounds equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, and hand tools. Tennis Court & Racquets Facility Maintenance Maintain tennis and racquets facilities to ensure safe and optimal playing conditions. Clean and prepare courts daily, including blowing, sweeping, and removing debris. Maintain court surfaces according to established Club standards. Inspect nets, windscreens, fencing, gates, court accessories, and surrounding areas for safety and functionality. Assist with seasonal court opening, closing, and special maintenance projects. Support court setup for tournaments, clinics, member events, and special programs. Monitor court conditions and promptly report repair or maintenance needs. Facility & Exterior Support Conduct routine inspections of outdoor Club facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness. Assist with pool area setup, seasonal operations, and exterior maintenance as assigned. Set up, move, and store outdoor furniture, umbrellas, seating areas, and seasonal amenities. Support routine maintenance projects across Club facilities when needed. Respond promptly to work orders and operational needs affecting members and guests. Event & Operational Support Assist with Club event setup and breakdown, including outdoor furniture, tents, tables, chairs, and equipment. Support special projects, seasonal operations, and facility improvement initiatives. Ensure outdoor areas are presented in a clean, welcoming, and member-ready condition at all times. Safety & Compliance Follow all Club safety policies, equipment operating procedures, and PPE requirements. Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues promptly. Identify and report safety hazards, property damage, and unusual conditions. Participate in emergency response activities and routine safety inspections. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Teamwork & Member Service Work collaboratively with grounds, maintenance, housekeeping, pool, racquets, and food & beverage teams. Interact professionally and courteously with members, guests, and fellow employees. Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional club experiences. Assist other departments as needed to support Club operations. Qualifications Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, tennis court maintenance, facility maintenance, golf course maintenance, or related outdoor work preferred. Basic knowledge of landscaping equipment, hand tools, irrigation systems, and grounds maintenance practices. Experience operating mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, and other grounds equipment preferred. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently when needed. Positive attitude and commitment to a member-first environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a service-oriented club setting. Willingness to learn and grow within a multi-disciplinary grounds and facilities operation. Understanding of tennis court maintenance practices is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Work Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment, utility vehicles, and hand tools. Ability to climb ladders and access work areas as needed. Availability for early mornings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal overtime. Ability to respond to urgent grounds, weather-related, or facility needs while on duty. License & Special Requirements Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to pass background checks required by the Club. Willingness to participate in seasonal projects, special event support, and tournament coverage as needed. Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent The Edgeworth Club in a positive manner.
