Job Description
Gardener / Landscaper Front Yard Forest is seeking a gardener/landscaper to join our team in Columbia, SC. We specialize in ecological landscaping, habitat restoration, native plantings, and garden maintenance. Our work focuses on creating and caring for landscapes that are beautiful, functional, and supportive of healthy ecosystems. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a strong work ethic, takes pride in quality work, and wants to develop practical skills in landscaping and horticulture. Previous experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidates. Responsibilities Assist with garden maintenance and landscape improvement projects Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and groundcovers Perform weeding, mulching, watering, pruning, and general garden care Support habitat restoration and invasive species management Safely operate landscape equipment and hand tools Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and vehicles Follow company procedures and safety standards Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors Represent Front Yard Forest professionally on client properties Qualifications Enjoys physical outdoor work and working with plants Reliable, punctual, and dependable Follows direction with ease and asks questions when needed Strong attention to detail and follow-through Able to work independently and as part of a team Positive attitude and willingness to learn Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Able to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and perform physical work throughout the day Interest in landscaping, horticulture, ecology, native plants, or environmental stewardship is a plus Requirements Valid driver's license required Reliable transportation required Ability to meet the requirements of a drug-free workplace Authorized to work in the United States Ability to safely operate a truck and trailer is preferred Compensation & Benefits $18-$23 per hour , depending on experience Higher compensation may be available for candidates with experience safely driving and backing trailers Paid sick leave Paid time off Seasonal position (approximately 6-7 months) Opportunity for long-term and full-time employment for the right candidates Currently hiring for two positions Workplace Standards Front Yard Forest is committed to maintaining a professional, safe, and respectful work environment.
