Commercial Landscape Irrigation Technician

Job Summary:

As a Commercial Landscape Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems for commercial properties. This is a hands-on position that requires knowledge of landscaping and irrigation techniques.

Responsibilities:

Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems Work independently or with others under little or no supervision Maintain current and accurate records of products used, problems encountered, or other information essential to the job. Communicate well with others and follow both written and verbal instructions Must have a willingness to work long hours and a varying schedule Must be willing to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions Installing systems and ensuring that they function efficiently Repairing and maintaining valves, tracing electrical components, installing and initializing clocks and timers, locating existing zones and valves and performing pump repairs Install and repair irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip lines, valves, and controllers Perform regular maintenance on irrigation systems to ensure proper functioning Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with irrigation systems and make necessary repairs Collaborate with landscapers and gardeners to ensure proper watering schedules Dig trenches and lay pipes for irrigation system installation Adjust sprinkler heads to ensure optimal coverage Monitor water usage and make adjustments to conserve water when necessary

Skills Required:

Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for irrigation system installation and repair Effective oral and communication skills. Knowledge of two-wire systems Knowledge of landscaping and garden maintenance techniques Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with irrigation systems Ability to work independently or as part of a team Excellent problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship High school degree or GED required.
