Full-Time / Entry-Level Position Summary As a Groundskeeper at American Campus Communities, you will play a critical role in maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and curb appeal of the student housing community. This position supports the upkeep of both interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, resident amenities, grounds, and back-of-house facilities.
Key Responsibilities Grounds & Exterior Maintenance:
Maintain exterior grounds through daily trash pickup, litter control, pressure washing, and basic property upkeep.
Interior & Common Area Housekeeping:
Clean property interiors to standard, including vacuuming, mopping, shampooing carpets, stocking restrooms, and maintaining community amenities.
Turnover & Make-Ready Support:
Assist the service team with apartment turnover processes, trash-outs, minor touch-up painting, and preparing unit interiors for new residents.
Service Team Assistance:
Support maintenance technicians with work orders, moving furniture, unloading shipments, and storing supplies.
Facility & Pool Upkeep:
Assist with pool maintenance (where applicable) and keep maintenance shops, storage areas, and work environments organized and safe.
Safety & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate facility equipment, tools, and golf carts while strictly adhering to safety protocols and MSDS chemical handling guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior general labor or apartment groundskeeping experience is helpful but not required (on-the-job training provided).
Instruction & Safety:
Ability to understand and follow multi-step written and verbal instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety rules.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, operate light equipment, and drive a golf cart.

Detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to taking pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for student residents.
Pay:
$16.00 per hour
