Labor, Grounds Maintenance - Killeen, Tx (Fort Hood) Training, Rehabilitation & Development - 1.0 Fort Hood, TX Job Details $17.53 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Qualifications Power saws Hedge trimmers Tree pruning Full Job Description Must have grounds maintenance knowledge to include the use of equipment such as weed eaters, lawn mower, hedge trimmers, chainsaws etc. Must be able to run a weed eater on a slope for multiple hours at a time. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds periodically. Must be able to kneel in flower beds for bed maintenance. Must have transportation. Drivers License is a plus. Maintains grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds and athletic fields. Repairs structures and equipment, performing one or more of the following tasks: cut grass, using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.), trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds and wells Uses hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools, sprays lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer or insecticide. Job duties also include the following: planting grass, flowers, trees and shrubs, watering lawn and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system, picks up and burns/carts away leaves, paper or other litter. Trims and or removes Trees using chainsaws, pole saws, pruning poles etc. Some trimming will require a bucket truck. Assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment, and may clean comfort stations, offices workshop areas and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing. Other tasks as as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor Minimum Qualifications Must have tree trimming experience. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule. Must obtain and maintain a security clearance. Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing, sitting, walking and/or lifting
