Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to ensure healthy and attractive grounds. Operate groundskeeping and landscaping equipment such as power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Assist with installation of hardscape features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures. Conduct plant identification to properly care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf areas; apply pesticides and herbicides following safety protocols when necessary. Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and making necessary adjustments to ensure proper watering schedules. Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible. Follow all safety protocols diligently while working with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to prevent accidents and injuries. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment operation and maintenance. Experience in landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, gardening, and lawn care practices. Ability to identify various plants and trees accurately; knowledge of horticulture principles is a plus. Familiarity with pesticide management and safe handling of chemicals used in landscape care. Proficiency with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting for efficient water use. Hands-on experience with hardscape construction including pavers, stonework, or similar projects. Knowledge of safety procedures related to outdoor work environments; commitment to maintaining a safe work site at all times.
