Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic groundskeeping team as a Grounds Crew Member, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces. This energetic position involves performing a variety of landscaping, turf management, and grounds maintenance tasks to ensure our facilities are safe, attractive, and well-kept. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions, utilizing your skills in landscape care, equipment operation, and manual handling to support the overall aesthetic and health of our grounds. Responsibilities Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and weed control to promote healthy growth and an appealing appearance. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues to prevent water waste or damage. Use hand tools and power tools responsibly for various landscaping projects while adhering to safety protocols. Conduct routine inspections of athletic fields or golf course grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair. Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Assist with pesticide management and land care practices following safety guidelines to protect plants, wildlife, and personnel. Qualifications Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or turf management is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued. Knowledge of irrigation systems, landscape maintenance techniques, and golf course or athletic field groundskeeping is advantageous. Ability to operate ground maintenance machinery such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, power trimmers, and other landscaping equipment safely. Familiarity with power tool safety standards and proper handling of hand tools. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods. Basic understanding of horticulture principles related to lawn care, gardening, and land management practices.
