You will be responsible for laying sod, maintaining lawns, and supporting overall landscape health through skilled use of tools and plant knowledge. Responsibilities Prepare soil beds and install new grass or sod to establish lush, healthy lawns. Mow, trim, and edge grass areas to maintain a neat and manicured appearance. Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently. Identify various plants, weeds, pests, and diseases to ensure optimal landscape health. Apply pesticides or fertilizers following safety protocols to promote plant growth and pest control. Support landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning trees and shrubs, installing hardscape features, and managing snow plowing during winter months. Follow all safety procedures rigorously to ensure a secure outdoor work environment while adhering to industry standards. Requirements Proven outdoor work experience with grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred. Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools essential for efficient operation. Strong understanding of horticulture principles including plant identification, irrigation systems, and lawn care techniques. Ability to operate landscaping machinery such as mowers, trimmers, snow plows, and irrigation systems confidently. Knowledge of pesticide management practices and safety protocol adherence required for responsible chemical use. Excellent physical stamina for lifting heavy materials, standing long hours, and performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
