Full-time Job SummaryThe Grounds Maintenance II is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and overall functionality of the processing facility and surrounding grounds. This role includes performing advanced maintenance tasks, troubleshooting building and landscape systems, and ensuring equipment and grounds are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. The position may provide guidance or support to junior Grounds Maintenance staff and contributes to operational efficiency across the facility. Essential Job Functions Conduct regular inspections of facilities, grounds, and building systems; identify issues and implement corrective actions. Perform advanced maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete patching, roofing, and general structural upkeep. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems, vehicles, farm equipment, and power tools. Perform snow and ice removal, grading, landscaping, and maintenance of roads and grounds between barns. Maintain biosecurity stations and ensure all sanitation procedures are followed. Provide guidance and support to junior grounds staff, as needed. Assist other departments with facility-related tasks and projects. Follow all safety procedures and comply with USDA, FDA, and other applicable standards. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 2+ years of general work experience, preferably in grounds, facility, or agricultural maintenance. Valid driver's license required; experience operating small vehicles or farm equipment preferred. Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills to repair and maintain equipment and facilities. Ability to work independently on complex tasks and lead minor projects or improvements. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., reach, bend, twist, and work at heights or in various climate conditions. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with other teams. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping. Bilingual in English and Spanish Work Environment The work environment involves both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring the ability to operate effectively in various climate conditions, including inclement weather. The role requires physical activity, such as lifting and moving up to 50 lbs occasionally, and involves reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting above the head. Effective communication skills are necessary, and the position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
