Job Description

Tower Ground Technician (Entry-Level) Support tower crews and microwave technicians by handling all ground‑level operations during microwave dish installations, alignments, and maintenance. This role is ideal for someone starting in the industry who wants to learn microwave systems, rigging, and tower operations from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Ground Operations & Support Prepare and stage tools, hardware, waveguide, and microwave equipment Operate ropes, pulleys, and hoisting systems to send dishes and mounts up the tower Assist with assembling mounts, brackets, and dish components on the ground Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Microwave-Specific Support Assist with pre‑assembly of microwave dishes, ODU/IDU components, and mounts Help technicians with waveguide routing, labeling, and weatherproofing Support LOS (line‑of‑sight) checks and path validation from the ground Record RSL readings, alignment notes, and test data as directed Communication & Coordination Maintain clear radio communication with tower climbers and microwave techs Relay alignment adjustments during dish pointing Follow instructions precisely during controlled lifts and rigging operations Safety & Compliance Follow OSHA, NATE, and company safety procedures Use PPE correctly (hard hat, gloves, boots, safety glasses) Assist with site safety setup, barricades, and hazard identification Participate in daily JHAs and tailgate meetings General Field Duties Load/unload trucks and organize equipment Drive company vehicles to job sites (with valid license) Assist with site cleanup and restoration Complete basic paperwork and daily logs Required Skills & Qualifications Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools Ability to follow detailed instructions and stay alert Valid driver's license and willingness to travel Preferred (But Not Required) Skills Basic understanding of microwave systems or wireless networks Experience with ropes, rigging, or construction Comfort using radios for communication Work Environment Outdoor job sites (urban, rural, or remote) Fast‑paced, physically demanding work Close coordination with tower climbers and microwave technicians Travel often required
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
