Garden Specialist NOVA Parks - 4.0 Alexandria, VA Job Details Part-time | Seasonal $16 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience Native plants Full Job Description The Garden Specialist is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of planted areas and lawns.
Pay Rate:
$16.00 per hour Major Duties/Specific Tasks Perform various landscape maintenance including weeding, mulching, edging, raking, and watering planted areas as needed. Plant trees, shrubs, and flowers in designated areas. Suggest landscape plan for planted areas. Prune trees and shrubs as needed. Maintain cleanliness of walks by sweeping. Assist with coordination of volunteers. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of native and ornamental plant materials and gardening. Knowledge of historic landscapes (18th century - early 19th century). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff members. Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Ability to perform heavy manual labor in a variety of weather conditions. Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times. Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
