Job Description
Job Summary The Town of Waitsfield is hiring a full-time Road & Property Maintainer to join our four-person Road Department crew. This is year-round work that changes with the seasons. In the warmer months, much of the job is mowing and caring for town lands. In the winter, it centers on keeping the town's sidewalks clear. Throughout the year, you will also work alongside the Road Foreman on other Road Department tasks. If you are dependable, mechanically inclined, and enjoy hands-on outdoor work, we would like to hear from you. What you'll do In the summer, spend at least half of each week mowing and maintaining town lands and public grounds In the winter, plow the town's sidewalks to keep them clear and passable, including on-call and overtime hours as conditions require For the remainder of each week, year-round, work alongside the Road Foreman on other Road Department tasks Operate and help maintain town equipment, including the equipment used for mowing and sidewalk plowing Perform routine equipment checks and basic mechanical repairs Work cooperatively as part of a small crew What we're looking for
Required:
Dependable, motivated, and able to work well as part of a four-person crew Experience operating mowing equipment, heavy equipment, or similar machinery Mechanical skills and the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance A valid driver's licensePreferred:
A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). A CDL is preferred but not required at the time of hire.
