As a Landscape Construction Crew Member, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation and maintenance of various landscaping projects. This role involves working outdoors and collaborating with a team to ensure high-quality results. You will be involved in tasks such as planting, hardscaping, irrigation installation, and general site preparation.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of landscape plans, including planting, grading, and installing hardscape features (such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls). Operate and maintain landscape equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition. Participate in site preparation, including excavation, grading, and soil preparation. Install irrigation systems, including digging trenches, laying pipes, and setting up sprinkler heads. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as weeding, mulching, and pruning. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals efficiently and effectively. Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in landscape construction or related field preferred. Familiarity with landscaping tools and equipment (e.g., shovels, rakes, compactors, power tools). Ability to lift 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. Basic knowledge of plant materials and landscaping techniques. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and adapt. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for the position).
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional certifications in landscaping or related fields are a plus.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. Physical labor and heavy lifting are frequently required. May involve occasional weekend work or overtime during peak seasons.
