Job Description

TS Landscape Design is a small, sustainable landscape maintenance and design company focusing on organic, eco-friendly care of Seattle area gardens. In addition to skilled gardening, we emphasize excellent customer service, communication, client education as well as a rewarding work experience. We're looking for talented team member to express their creativity and love of year round gardening while helping to build a high quality, low stress, fun gardening group. Tasks will consist of basic garden maintenance including: Weeding and edging of garden beds Basic proper pruning of shrubs and small trees Care of perennials and annuals Proper planting of a variety of plants Some hardscape installations including patios, pathways, raised bed planters etc... Mulching beds Some micro-spray/ drip irrigation installation. Tracking time and work done Your tasks will also include learning plant ID and general eco-friendly methods of garden care.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates who have some or all of these will be short-listed. Be on-time with a positive outlook, ready to work steadily as needed, be detail oriented and willing to learn. Have some familiarity with Pacific Northwest plants and plant care practices including some basics of pruning. (Don't worry, I'll teach you everything you need to know!) Be able to perform at least 5 hours of pruning, weeding, lifting (up to 80lbs) etc. in all kinds of weather. Familiarity with tools of the trade: pruners, rakes, shears, loppers, electric blowers and string-line trimmers etc. Have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites, clothing for all weather and a smartphone for communication with staff, clients, vendors and for accessing calendars. Preferred (but not required): Two years of documented professional gardening experience. Knowledge of hardscape work in a residential setting. Basic working knowledge of landscape practices (Pruning, Trimming, Mulching) as well as basic plant ID. Starting pay is $25.00-$27.00, depending on experience.
