Summary:

The Experienced Landscaper / Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, health, and safety of facility grounds through routine landscape maintenance and seasonal property care. This position requires extensive knowledge of lawn care, tree and shrub maintenance, operation and maintenance of landscaping equipment, and safe work practices. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a maintenance team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, and general lawn care. Prune trees, shrubs, hedges, and bushes using proper horticultural practices to promote healthy growth, safety, and aesthetic appearance. Identify the appropriate timing and methods for pruning, planting, fertilizing, and other seasonal landscape maintenance activities. Maintain flower beds, ornamental plants, and landscaped areas to ensure a clean and professional appearance. Operate a variety of landscaping equipment, including commercial mowers, string trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and other power equipment. Perform routine inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on small engine equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Support facility groundskeeping operations by removing leaves, debris, litter, and other materials from outdoor areas. Perform seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, ice control, salting, and sidewalk and parking lot clearing during winter months. Monitor grounds for potential hazards and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating equipment and performing assigned duties. Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition. Assist with additional facility maintenance and groundskeeping projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in commercial landscaping, groundskeeping, or property maintenance. Thorough knowledge of lawn care practices, plant health, tree and shrub pruning techniques, and seasonal landscape maintenance. Experience operating and maintaining commercial landscaping equipment and small engine machinery. Ability to diagnose and perform minor repairs on small engine equipment. Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Valid driver's license preferred.
