Job Description

Groundskeeper Job Summary We are currently seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to help oversee a large apartment community located in West Allis, Milwaukee, WI. The Groundskeeper performs a variety of tasks and responsibilities to maintain grounds of property for either conventional or government housing departments. Our employees are helpful and courteous, and we cultivate those same qualities in new hires. This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance in accordance with Metropolitan Associates attendance policy. Candidates must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle. About Metropolitan Associates With approximately 4700 apartments in more than 30 choice locations, we offer a variety of apartment homes, as well as outstanding service and experience. We are a full-service company, consisting of market-rate and government-subsidized apartments. Metropolitan Associates is one of the largest and most experienced owners and managers of housing in the State of Wisconsin. Groundskeeper Job Responsibilities Groundskeeper cuts, rakes, trims, edges, plants lawn and plants and waters as necessary. Seeds grounds where necessary. Prunes shrubs and trees and sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees. Shovels snow from walks and driveways and spreads salt on public passageways. Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks and paints as necessary. Picks up trash on grounds and parking lots. Assists in the turning over of vacant apartments. Assists in custodial function including cleaning of hallways, storage rooms and laundry rooms. Groundskeeper Job Skills Must be a reliable worker who is able to perform routine tasks without supervision. Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including lawn mower, grass trimmers, shears, pruner, shovels, wheel barrel, rakes, weed whip, hammers, saws, screw drivers, snow blower, ice chopper, etc. Strong attention to detail required.
