Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic groundskeeping team as a Lawn Maintenance Technician and play a vital role in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing a variety of landscaping and grounds maintenance skills. You will be responsible for ensuring lawns, gardens, and landscapes are healthy, attractive, and safe, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functionality of commercial or residential properties. Responsibilities Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems to ensure efficient landscape upkeep. Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding to promote healthy turf growth. Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, pruning, tree trimming, shrub care, and garden bed upkeep. Manage irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and adjusting schedules to optimize water use. Identify various plants, trees, and pests to ensure proper plant health management; apply pesticides or fertilizers following safety protocols. Execute hardscape projects such as installing or repairing pathways, retaining walls, or other outdoor structures as needed. Follow all safety protocols diligently during outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Experience Prior outdoor work experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or horticulture is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment operation and maintenance is essential. Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques including mowing, pruning, planting, and pest management. Experience operating grounds maintenance machinery such as lawnmowers, power tools, excavators, and snow plowing equipment. Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting; understanding of plant identification and horticultural practices. Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to safety standards.
