Requisition ID:
2721 The position of Fertilizer Applicator is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for operation of custom application equipment in the application of fertilizer and chemicals to customer's fields in a safe, accurate, efficient and timely manner as well as promote the proper use of crop protection products. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Job Summary:
These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently. Loading and mixing fertilizer and pesticide formulas. Ability to follow and interpret fertilizer and pesticide labels. Performing all applications in a timely manner and on schedule. Maintaining application logs and other records as necessary. Reading field maps and global positioning devices. Working around and handling hazardous materials properly. Performing daily inspection of equipment and minor repairs as needed. Willingness to work extended hours as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
High School diploma or GED preferred. Must currently have or ability to obtain Idaho Professional Applicators license with all applicable endorsements. Must have a Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and general public. Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy. Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service throughout the location. Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance. Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
