Job Description
Company Overview Greener Living Lawn Care has spent the past seven years turning ordinary yards in the greater Chicago area into showcase lawns. Our inside sales team drives demand—our Field Service Technicians turn that demand into results, applying the pro-grade products that make our customers' turf look like a freshly mown ballfield. If you're looking for a role where hard work outdoors, pride in craftsmanship, and a supportive, growth-minded culture all come together, we'd love to meet you. Position Overview - Field Service Technician (On-Site) As a Field Service Technician you'll spend your workday outside, visiting 25-30 residential properties and applying fertilizer, weed-control sprays, and other treatments using backpack sprayers and broadcast spreaders. You'll drive a company truck (no CDL required) between stops, keep detailed service notes in our mobile app, and serve as the friendly face our clients see on their lawn. This is a full-time, four-day workweek— 8 am - 6 pm, with weekends and one week day off. Training & Career Path Paid, hands-on training —learn grass species, product chemistry, and safe application techniques from our ISA-certified trainer. Mentor ride-alongs your first few days, then gradual route hand-off. Weekly skills clinics on advanced weed ID, turf disease, and customer communication. Automatic weekly raises once training is complete—show up on time, keep callbacks low, and your hourly rate climbs each week. Key Responsibilities Apply granular and liquid turf-care products to residential lawns. Accurately calibrate spreaders and sprayers for each product. Drive company pickup truck safely between jobs (local routes only). Educate customers on post-treatment watering and mowing best practices. Keep electronic service records and product usage logs in our CRM mobile app. Spot and photograph turf issues (disease, grubs, irrigation problems) for the agronomy team. Compensation Base Pay $21.00 / hour to start (≈ $840 per four-day week) Commision Pay $50-$200 per week Overtime $31.50 / hour
