  • Part-time Job Overview ArborThrive is looking for a Tree Health Care Specialist to help us protect and save trees this summer.
Based out of Baxter, MN, ArborThrive specializes in keeping trees healthy and protecting them from pests and diseases. We treat trees throughout Central Minnesota including the Brainerd Lakes and St. Cloud area We are looking for seasonal, part-time help, starting immediately, and lasting until September or October. As a Tree Health Care Specialist at ArborThrive, you will provide prescriptive insecticide treatments using specialized tree injection equipment to control tree-killing insects like emerald ash borer and two-lined chestnut borer. Responsibilities Load appropriate supplies and materials for each day's work orders. Travel to client properties throughout the Brainerd Lakes and St. Cloud Area to treat trees. Apply the insecticide, emamectin benzoate, using specialized trunk injection tools. Keep accurate and specific records of all pesticide applications. Ability to work independently. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required and recommended including long sleeves, pants, eye protection, and nitrile gloves. Qualifications A Commercial Pesticide Applicators License (category A and E) is preferred, but not required. ArborThrive offers training and license fee assistance for obtaining a Pesticide Applicators License. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (heat, humidity) and varied terrain. Ability to identify common local tree species (oak, ash, birch, etc) Driver's license and good driving record required. Degree in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, etc. preferred but not required. Ability to stoop, kneel, and carry 40 pounds occasionally throughout the work day. What We Offer Flexible schedule Training, development, and advancement opportunities
