We are seeking a versatile Farm/Shop/Mechanical Technician to join our team! This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across various aspects of farm operations, equipment maintenance, building maintenance/construction, animal care, and vehicle projects. You are not expected to be proficient in every area of work, but you can be instrumental in daily farm activities, maintaining machinery and structures, and providing assistance with a gamut of projects. Your particular skills, abilities and interests will be respected and utilized. Your energetic approach and mechanical "can do" attitude will help foster a productive environment where safety, efficiency, and well-being are prioritized. This paid position is perfect for someone eager to apply their hands-on skills. Responsibilities Oversee daily farm operations, including animal husbandry. Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety. Perform routine equipment repairs, welding, and maintenance using hand tools and power tools to keep machinery in top condition. Handle animals with care, including feeding, health monitoring, and assisting with fence security. Supervise or assist with shop activities related to equipment repair, tool organization, and inventory management. Operate forklifts, loaders and other construction machinery safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Assist with growing projects or landscape work that enhances productivity and aesthetic appeal. Ensure compliance with safety standards during heavy lifting, equipment operation, mechanical tasks, and animal handling. Experience Agricultural, shop or maintenance knowledge is desirable. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Animal husbandry skills across various species. Fence building and maintenance. Familiarity with farm machinery operation including tractors, forklifts, and power tools. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment confidently. Knowledge of general shop practices for equipment repairs.
