- Work underneath the Nursery manager and aid in all facets.
- Oversee all aspects of nursery operations, including planting, growing, and harvesting plants.
- Manage a team of nursery workers and provide guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of plants, including watering, fertilizing, and pest control.
- Monitor plant health and address any issues or diseases promptly.
- Implement and maintain data collection systems to track plant growth and performance.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of seeds, soil, and other materials.
- Maintain inventory of plants and supplies, and order new stock as needed.
- Operate and maintain greenhouse equipment, including irrigation systems and climate control systems.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs on equipment as necessary.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruning shears to perform various tasks in the nursery.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary. ```Skills```
- Strong knowledge of farming practices and techniques.
- Experience in growing a variety of plants in different environments (e.g., greenhouse, outdoor garden).
- Proficient in data collection and analysis to monitor plant growth and make informed decisions.
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain greenhouse equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for various tasks in the nursery.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and ability to irrigate plants properly.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping.
